hey, I see Sheriff Frim is in town :cowboy:
....I am quite proud of myself, for yesterday and today I erased about 12 posts before submitting them. Now, dont expect this wierd behavior outta me often!
Red Dog: Simply put, forget the Chucky Cheese parking lot video camera angle. Dude, you are ex-military, THINK man. Consider...
Radar data.
Black Box data.
Cellphone transmission data.
Pilot radio data.
Satellite data.
Forensic data including fuel analysis, metal fragment analysis, parts and pieces not vaporized found at the scene, so forth.
YOU dont have access to all of that data, but experts do, and they formed their conclusions. The plane crashed into the Pentagon, Elvis is dead, and man walked on the moon. Stay loose and be cool about it my man.
SIR PAUL: A couple of posts yesterday were completely insensitive and frankly inappropriate considering the person(s) who posted. I am going to let it go, but I will say I feel Paul is a very lonely man right now despite his billions, and, to give a pass to the jello sweeties from the "mean-spirited" flag wavers in this GB proves to me (again) I have far more respect for a bitcher and moaner who speaks their honest opinions, right or wrong, than two faced ass-kissing lemmings who ignore the truly insensitive posts in favor of jumping on the bandwagon and check their mailboxes everyday for updated jello recipes and party invites. You know who you are.
Bum, my comment I posted in the middle of all this was directed at Maxmule, not you. He was the one being disrespectful with his "Roadies are 99% brain damaged" comment. I posted right after Judi when she was questioning his post as well.
Max must have got it because I saw his apology.
I wont comment on the whole focken political debate going on here. You all can hash out your politics anyway you see fit and post until the cows come home. That roadie comment was just uncalled for and that was why I posted.
Bigdaveonbass, one question.
What the hell is "What would Duane Do" ? Does he have all the answers? Brilliant man yes, but he was human! He's probably tell all of you to shut the hell up, quit whining, get out and enjoy life. Hows that for WWDD?
What JHawke said !!!!!!!!
Hey, Bum! Good to see ya! How ya been, Bro?
I have no idea what you guys are arguing about, but I'm on Bum's side!
just a few questions...
Did you wake up today ?
Do you have food ?
Do you have shelter ?
Do you have people that love you ?
we CAN agree to disagree..
OK, so next March, will the Beacon Hotel let us set up a big deal Cage Match? We can do Red and Blue outfits like the political state maps at election time. We can use broken off Les Paul necks as weapons, so to keep it in a musical context. Sweeties as Round Girls with hold up cards? I want Big Dave on my side, I'll even change political leanings if needed to make that happen. I see Red Dog as the corner man on one side, the wimpy team can have MuleMax in that corner (kidding bro)...... Lana is definitely referee with right to contest calls to Rowland. Let's Get Ready To Ruuuummmmmbbbblllle........... Keep that 400 pound gorilla that wanted to kill me this year away from me 🙂 Or get him on my team. Hittin The Note Crew can have a golden T shirt opportunity......... Bum can tell us to Take It To The Forum, to no avail...... Somehow RT figures into this, not sure how, probably as a renagade troublemaker....... JHawke, I'll rig up a 455 Pontiac powered deal for you with big spikes all over it.....
"This isn't Vietnam. This isn't Kuwait. This isn't a political forum. This is a rock band website. I find you guys' nostalgic melodramatic "I got your back" talk disrespectful to the men and women who actually have their *sses on the line right this minute instead of sitting on their *ss participating in some weak internet flame war. You guys are acting like a prima donna football player who talks about going to war on Sunday. You want to talk about respect? I disagreed with Red Dog. I told him so and I told him why. That's a hell of a lot more respectful than kissing his butt because he's an "almost famous" roadie or because he's a Marine and humoring him like some crazy babbling old relative at Thanksgiving dinner. Red Dog spoke his mind and you defended his right to do so yet Pete spoke his mind and you tell him "love it or leave it". Marines or not, you Hemlock are a hypocrit and Red Dog should find some place else to float political conspiracy theories. Anytime you guys want to take this off-line just PM me and I'll delete every post I've made on the subject. Each time you respond you prove my original point: political sh*t talking has no place on the ABB Guestbook. "
Bum, you make it sound like we're lining up to rumble. I told LUKE I have his back as a symbolic gesture between two brothers of the road. I have met LUKE and consider him a kindred spirit, both as a biker and as an ABB fan. I consider Hemlock a kindred spirit both as a bass player and as an ABB fan. I'll meet him one day and "burn one" with him. I have met Red Dog also, and I show respect to him not only as a wounded Viet Nam vet of the Marine Corp, but also as an original roadie of my favorite band. He's not almost famous. He IS famous. How do you think he got wrote into the story of Almost Famous? How many other roadies do you know by name outside the Allman Brothers Band, perhaps with the exception of Brian Farmer?
I think now would be a good time for EVERYONE to lighten up! GEEZ
Take that punk that wrote the words about the ABB and tie his ass to a chair right in front of the PA speakers. Let them play at concert level starting with Black hearted Woman, Every Hungry Woman, Dreams, Stormy Monday, The Same Thing, Mountain Jam (although his brain probably wouldn't get that one), then top it off with Whipping Post. Then untie him, point him toward the stage and say, "you see that young kid in the middle, he is touring with EC, the guy on the end is the greatest white blues singer alive, the other guitarist is a rock legend who could play with anyone and intimidate most. "see that drummer in the middle, he is the finest latino drummer on the planet. The white drummer is known as "freight train" and has won the award for best R&B drummer several times. The black drummer has so much computerized material in his brain you would not be able to comprehend anything he tells you because you don't know *****. The bass player is world renown as one of the greatest to ever pick up the instrument. That, my punk ass friend is the every night line-up of the ABB. If you can't see now why they are in a league comprised of only the Beatles, Eagles, and possibly the Stones as the bands that shaped music as we know it since 1964. No other bands need apply. You won't get in because you are not worthy. It is about the music man. Not the ups and downs. It's what comes out of the speakers night after night. 37 years and they perform the greatest Beacon Run ever in 2006. One more thing. They don't need gimmicks. They play from the soul like their life depended on it.
You know what burns my butt more than any of this stuff about the government. What Rick T said that writer said about ABB. That is just plain stupidity.
As far as hearing a tender EC song, I'd take Let it Grow, hands down, over Wonderful Tonight in the live setlist.
"Does Clapton ever do Let It Grow live? Not Let it Rain"
I haven't heard him do a live version since the late seventies.
"Let it blossom, let it flow. Love is lovely, let it grow".
Hey there sweet family,
Tom McGrath, you made our day! :flower2: It's terrific to hear someone mention John Mohead outside of our house! We're completely into him. What a talent! In any case we wanted to know too, and did some digging. Found out he lives in MS, has an art gallery and land management company (two separate ventures, not a hybrid! 😉 ) and has pretty much given up on the music biz aside from very rarely sitting in.
Take care and know that you ... and Mohead ... are loved,
Lana and Rowland
Ain't nobody gonna touch nobody!
WWDD? (What Would Duane Do?)
LUKE, I got your back brother.
Hemlock, that was the point I tried to make yesterday, but no one commented pro or con on it. Red Dog was wounded in 'Nam. THAT IN ITSELF deserves respect. He took a bullet for ME, as far as I am concerned. I may not agree with his viewpoints, but I'll back his right to speak his mind. PERIOD.
anyone know what happened to John Mohead?
Ever meet an avid Bob Marley fan? Man (I mean Mon), the conspiracy theories are classic. My favorite is the CIA gave him cancer.
I'm sure the US government created cancer and has covered it up for decades. Can't trust any of da basdads. In fact we should all take up arms and march to washington NOW befor its too late.
