Matt had a new Pearl kit?
what kind is it?
color?
heard any confesions lately dr. faye?
local 322 huh.
very cool.
Last night was a great show. The Mule show really suprised me, they played pretty much older Mule until the end which they asked if we wanted to hear a few new ones, and the crowd loved them. They did a great job, Matt Abts sounded absolutely amazing on that new Pearl kit of his, heck, it's not the kit that made him sound great, he's just Matt effin' Abts!!
The New songs were really great, Mr. High & Mighty was solid as a rock! The second song they played was an old old Ray Charles song called I do Believe to My Soul, they just killed it! Amazing.

The ABB set was alright... I think they should do away with No One Left To Run With, we've all heard this song too many times. Don't Keep Me Wondering raised the energy bar after Statesboro for me, followed by a very soulful version of Who's Been Talking. From this point, it was obvious it was a Warren night.
Instrumental Illness was extremely Jazzy in the beginning. Firing Line was great to hear, and I'm glad Gregg finally hit this one, everytime I've seen it, he's flubbed it, and he totally nailed it last night. The Same Thing Danny Louis came out, and the whole song Danny & Gregg were total smiles and laughing over something, Danny had a great solo in that as well. Marc played Jai's kit for this one, and Jaimoe came out and played some percussion on it.
Desdemona was great to hear again, I used to complain they didn't play this enough, but the last 3 shows I've been too I've heard it, and still love it. Black Hearted Woman was alright, it was the obvious spot for the 20 minute drum interlude, JaBuMa. It was interesting, still have to listen to it on the IL.
We all thought Southbound was going to be the encore, and luckily a second after it ended Warren pulled out the Jessica Riff, and totally saved the show for me. What a great night of music.
It was great to see Terri, Barb & Bob, Jim Benjamin, Sari, Stacy(Happy Birthday!!!), Corny, Greg Potter, Joe Bell(Finally after about 5 shows running into eachother) Elliot and his friends. Sorry if I left you out, you all know who you are.
Thanks Dave A for the pre-show party and a great plate of food, sweet corn, BBQ, and a variety of pastas.
healing vibes to the Charlesinator family and Sister Linnie...
Charles, caring for someone is a powerful responsibility, but I promise you, you will look back one day and Thank the good Lord for the opportunity to do so..

Get well Linnie! Carol, so sorry I couldn't get there yesterday. I hope it was a success. The "sweeties" that are part of the Allman Brother family here are so important to their respective communities as well. Any band is lucky to have Carol as a fan. God bless you.
Folks I've been just a little hesitant to ask, but ... I could sure use y'alls prayers for my parents especially my mother. We've recently had to put my father in a home. We are trying hard to move in with my mother and take care of her. She recently had to go to the hospital for an infection and her mind has seemed to slip noticably this week. It feels like we are juggling about a thousand dishes right now. There is a distinct possibility that things will get better for everybody. (Maybe I'll be able to get out and here some more music.) We've just got to wade through a swamp to get there. Anyway thanks again for this site and all of y'all. May God richly bless each and everyone of you. Peace.
hey gang good morning:cool:

Carol, so sorry to read about Wiley's passing. I know you are way more than a full time fan of the Part Time men. Love that one of your lasting memories will be of him singing some JJ for you.
I've been really loving listening to him lately. Hugs to you crazy mama.
Terri, don't know where you'll see it first, but thanks very much!
Healing vibes to sweet sister Linnie ...
It was an incredible night with the Best Damn Band In The Land! I don't know how they summon the magic up night after night but Atlanta, PNC, Boston and Scranton have all been A+ shows. I thought tonight's show stood up with the best of them, even Atlanta! After the performance Derek said he thought it was a special night as well.
Highlights for me were the JaBuMa into a rip roaring galloping version of Black Hearted Woman...Whose Been Talking...Desdemona...Jessica...aw hell - the whole night was special! Green Bay, Chicago and Red Rocks - get ready, this band is taking no prisoners!

well, i just found this site. I first saw the abb at the electric zoo in st. pete in summer of '69. they played there 3 times i think. that was my club and i used to go there on weekends, only hip place for 18 yr. olds in the area. then i saw them at some club that held a larger crowd near on the beach (maybe reddington). after that toward the end of the summer at the tampa armory. then i went to the university of florida and saw them at the rathskeller on campus in gainesville in the fall of '69. then i went to see my sister in new york city for christmas 69. she knew i was big abb fan so she bought us tickets for their first filmore east concert. they opened for blood, sweat and tears. when they were introduced it was real quite, i must have been the only person who knew who they were, but i was pretty shy then so i didn't say anything. of course after first song, everyone jumped up and cheered, the rest is history.
haven't seen them since.
actually i heard the very end of an interview with one of the band about their filmore shows on the fm here in new york city area, i was just looking for the rest of interview when spotted this site.
Underneath a diamond sky with one hand waving high......
Mrs. pappy treated me to a B-day show last night (not that kind) taking me to see Los Lonely Boys with Susan T opening. It was no Bros show but pretty good all the same. Susan played her les paul most of the set and rocked the place. I don't know if she was tired or pissed but she didn't talk or greet the audience until almost the end. I've seen her several times in the past where she has been more active with the fans.
Los Lonely Boys were entertaining but after a while everything started to sound the same. They did invite Susan and Ron Hollaway out to jam on one song and they opened a few eyes.
Looking forward to the Mule in October. ....pappy
BIGDAVE, Warren opened some dates for the ABB in 1993 as the Warren Haynes band, supporting Tales of Ordinary Madness. Not sure how many shows he did or how long they played. On this run, Mule is doing about 13 songs. ABB shows are running 2hr. 15min to last night's 2hr. 30 min.
Well i dont know if i can wait til friday...til my head turns red... just hope Warren gets some sleep ? i think this run he is doing with the Mule and Brothers 11 days in a row ! ! ! has to be a record ? any one out there know if he has done MORE than 11 daze in a row before ??? sweet dreams......
thanks for the call Sari !!! sounded like Jessica..:)
Last night was alot of fun at Tweeter Center. Many thanks to Jaimoe, his band, staff and crew[other Jaimoe] for their hospitality.JR. and Jay sounded awesome up there.I was very happy for you both. The keyboard player who belongs to the pug,Max,is Matt Zeiner.
I thought the ABB played beautifully, too. The Mule was hot,got to meet Andy Hess, finally and that was real cool.Warren sounded great with that Firebird, too.
Hey,Elizabeth,I hope your sister's troubles are nothing.
The show @ tweeter center (GREAT WOODS) was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one of the best I've ever seen!!!!!!!!! MULE opening was real great, too!! Derek is definately "THE MAN." Gregg's vocals especially on WHIPPING POST were awesome.
