I was wondering when I woke up this morning about the saying , "They said", They this, or they that? Well I am asking, who the hell is THEY? Everyone have a good time at the Beak.

What a magical time of year! The memories that I have of the Beacon are up there with the best of my rock n' roll life. It looks like I won't be making it this year. Talk about a bad time to get layed off! Many of you will have to Eat a Peach for Frim! There's nothing like the buzz on the upper West Side right now. I look forward to the reports. You all enjoy and don't do anything I wouldn't do (if you can find something!) P.S. Lana, play some of last year's Beacon shows for Rowland. That and some jello shots should cure him!

Rick, think about it. You got Devon Allman, Duane Betts, Berry D. Oakley, Vaylor Trucks and cousins Derek and Duane Trucks . It could be billed as The Allman Brothers Band - The Next Generation.

Thanks RD. As I said, you would be one of the ones that had heard both dad and son when each was young, so I would trust the "comparison" if you will. Personally, I would like to see the children of the original members sit in here and there with their old man would be kinda cool. As for Imus, yep I agree, I have only heard him mention Dickey. I dont watch his show every day, but I have heard him a time or 2 mention Betts. He pretty much lays it out there, and is no dummy.

Imus is thebest out of all of them, that is radio in my mind. Just like Red Dog said he tells it like it is. I love his humor and of course Chuck and Bernie add a lot. Has his brother Fred been around?

We went to the Derek/Eric show in Denver with a number of friends. I was telling my wife's friend, Carol, after the show, that if she liked Derek there she had to see him in the ABB, or in his own band to get the full feeling of his true range. I also told her I loved the show, but it wouldn't make a top ten ABB show.

A while back Blueslide asked if there would be any Instant Lives from the Beacon run (he said some recent Ratdog shows at the Beacon were on IL) and I haven't seen any answer as yet. Does anybody know anything?

Rick, I can't give an answer on what Devon is made of. All I can say is, he is a man and does not shy away from what he needs to do. I have not seen him playing with his band or have I heard a CD. I did see and hear him sing Midnight Rider, with his Dad. Sounded O. K.. He was young, and his voice had not yet did its thing. I do hear, he is doing good and working. That is a good sign right there. I sure wish him well. I saw him in St. Pet so time back at a gig Betts was playing. He spoke to me, as I was walking by him, and I said hello back, being the nice guy that I am. Not to mention, I did not recognize him. He had put on some weight, which threw me off. A little while later, I got it together, and realized it was him. By then it was to late. He had left the gig. I will catch up one day. The Imus show is one of the top rated shows on the tube, and it comes on at sunrise. He is very rough talking and right or wrong, calls it like he thinks it is. I not so sure he would book the brothers. The only one I have heard him speak of is Dickey. He might have made reference to others in the band. I have not heard him. I do get up to watch his show. He has a gimmick like all the rest, but I do think it might be the only place where we might hear something that is at least close to the truth. He is the one who started the deal with Water Reed, and is still on it. If the man talks about your book it goes to number one, or real close to it. People love this guy. You can't make this stuff up, that's one of his sayings. Always has someone on to sing and play. He has played some of Dickeys tunes. I am sure he will be playing something from Warren. It would be nice for the Band to get on there.
