Rick, I can't give an answer on what Devon is made of. All I can say is, he is a man and does not shy away from what he needs to do. I have not seen him playing with his band or have I heard a CD. I did see and hear him sing Midnight Rider, with his Dad. Sounded O. K.. He was young, and his voice had not yet did its thing. I do hear, he is doing good and working. That is a good sign right there. I sure wish him well. I saw him in St. Pet so time back at a gig Betts was playing. He spoke to me, as I was walking by him, and I said hello back, being the nice guy that I am. Not to mention, I did not recognize him. He had put on some weight, which threw me off. A little while later, I got it together, and realized it was him. By then it was to late. He had left the gig. I will catch up one day.
The Imus show is one of the top rated shows on the tube, and it comes on at sunrise. He is very rough talking and right or wrong, calls it like he thinks it is. I not so sure he would book the brothers. The only one I have heard him speak of is Dickey. He might have made reference to others in the band. I have not heard him. I do get up to watch his show. He has a gimmick like all the rest, but I do think it might be the only place where we might hear something that is at least close to the truth. He is the one who started the deal with Water Reed, and is still on it. If the man talks about your book it goes to number one, or real close to it. People love this guy. You can't make this stuff up, that's one of his sayings. Always has someone on to sing and play. He has played some of Dickeys tunes. I am sure he will be playing something from Warren. It would be nice for the Band to get on there.
