George C's humor will be missed. Humor is in the ears of the beholder. What is funny to one, may sound stupid to another? George did bring something to the table. Last week I went into Bibb music. I heard a 14 year old kid, who is no taller than four feet at the most, playing guitar. He blew my mind. You name it and this kid could play it and play it with feel and body form. Hendricks, Allman brothers, Johnny Cash. He also was singing. His name is Dustin Mccook. You will be hearing from this new star, soon to be at the top of his game. Reminds me of the young gun Trucks, some years back. Dustin has been getting lesson from the Birdman, Miss Elf's brother in law, who just might be the best bass player in Macon. Dustin has a good teacher and it shows.

I witnessed a fabulous show Saturday night in Milwaukee at the Pabst Theatre. Les Paul's 93rd birthday celebration and grand opening of the Les Paul House of Sound exhibit at the Milwaukee Public Children's Museum. I feel very lucky to have witnessed what was one of the classiest shows I have ever been to. The sold out crowd sang happy birthday to Les at the end of the show. The Wizard of Waukesha was treated to a home town heroes welcome home.

Happy belated anniversay to Gailagain & BuffaloBill from the love shack north! :fanfare: Glad to hear you survived mother nature's onslaught at the Darien Lake Winwood/Petty show. That was some seriously frightening thunder and lightening! 😮 :freaked: Good thing they had generators. The news critic said that petty was singing "Won't Back Down" with a fervor and the storm intensified. Thanks for the concert calls. See you in RaChaCha for the DTB and Phil in two weeks!

RIP George Carlin I never thought him to be as outright funny as say Robin Williams or did not have the timing/delivery of Don Rickles, however over the years watched him morph into a bitter old man that actually was not very funny imo.....what WAS funny imo, as so many times happens, young liberals turn into conservatives as they age. In many ways George was getting more of a conservative view as he was showing increased frustration in the direction of this Country. But he was very provocative and was, for my generation, the first to bring the hippie culture to comedy mainstream (before cheech & chong). His early works were ground breaking and I think some of his best moments were on Carson. I enjoyed him more in that setting or in a movie than solo stand up performances.

RIP, George Carlin. He was a cool guy. Had a relentlessly inquisitive mind with a unique perspective. He'll be missed, but remembered.

Hey there sweet family, There is more sad news to share: George Carlin, the dean of counterculture comedians whose biting insights on life and language were immortalized in his "Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV" routine, died of heart failure Sunday. He was 71. Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, went into St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday afternoon complaining of chest pain and died later that evening, said his publicist, Jeff Abraham. He had performed as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. Take care and know that you are loved, Lana
