Bluedad, if you did all of that from your cell phone, I bet the battery crapped out shortly thereafter.
Y'all take Lefty snipe hunting.
Take him and show him what a grit tree looks like for hard times.
Bluedad, you are quite eloquent for a Hayseed! ROTFLMAO
Just wanted to let y'all know that Sista Nancy from Augusta came through her back surgery with flying colors today. The doctors did more extensive repair than they were expecting. I spoke with her awhile ago and she was waiting on her "take the pain away" shot....please keep her in your prayers during her recovery.
I've been playing this song over and over lately and I can't help but think of Bill when I hear it.
Run Tell John
( by Daniel Lemma )
Please Marion, take a message to Brother John
Marion run tell your brother
The men has come
To collect for what was done
Make right what went wrong
Run Marion, faster now
You run tell John
Tell him to bring his coat and hat
Journey will be long
And I know he's been waiting for this day to come
To pay what price may be
Endure our destiny
Oh Marion, your feet so swift
You run tell John
Tell him kiss Cedella and bring regards from me
Tell him to make it clear to Frannie that daddy's gonna leave
And tell Cedella not to cry
He loves her more than life
Oh Marion, your feet so swift
You run tell John
Will you tell him to bring his walking cane
The one out of finest wood
Tell him on this journey we better look good
And the Lord will provide us with strength as we lay our lives in his hands
Oh Marion, faster now
You run tell John
You run tell John
You run tell John
No computer yet Helen...
I am posting from my cell phone...
I am about ready to punch the computer guy. It's been three weeks....
John must of finally gotten his computer back from the shop! Glad you're back 🙂
Byard,
Got to have salt and slighlt peppered.
Fish and grits is my fave. Tomorrow morning, the breakfast special at the retaurant I usually eat at is salmon patties and grits....
Yum......
Thanks to all who gave Birthday wishes the last few days, and especially to Helen for that way sweet e-hug. Love to all-and especially to Bill.
Byrd
p.s. I think that Bluedad knows that the ultimate, super-secret ingredient for grits, is NaCl or for the scientific novices out there, salt! Without salt they taste like chewy water. Now I don't mind cheese in my grits, especially at night with a big plate of fried catfish, or butter, just make darn sure the salt is in there!
Hey Rusty,
Lefty will ave to figger' out whether it's long or short leaf pine.....LMAO...
Lizzie...move in with me. My wife won't care after she gets mad and leaves..
I hate cheese grits or butter in my grits....
Bluedad, my friend, you paint a colorful portrait of elegant Southern living.
I might add that I love cheese grits and I see no reason to mock their stickey, ooey, gooey essence.
May be right behind ya, Lefty and Lee Ann. Congratulations on your arrival Sweet Home Alabama
(no pun intended).
Thoughts of Bill.
Should we tell Lefty which leaves make the best toilet paper substitute? Or should we just let him figger out the ones that don't? 😉
Whoa, that's a bunch of skills to master there in just 6 months bluedad.
Hey Scotty,
Don't ever, ever put "Lefty" and "style" in the same sentence...:hammer:
His eating habits will no doubt change..
Give him six months and he will be a biscuit sopping, fried chicken licking, hamhock sucking, hoe cake eating, corn liquor drinking, collard green eating, fatback licking, hog jowl crunchin', chees grits eating, red eye gravy soppin', watermelon picking, tree peeing, tomato sandwich eatin', 3 channel TV watching, bathing in the creek cleanin', butt scratchin', poke salad eatin', mule plowin', blackberry pickin', snake wrasllin', cow milking, chicken feedin', hog sloopin', squirrel eatin', possum chasin', rabbit runnin', sheep...err ugh ....never mind...
Son of the south....
thinking of Bill....
Does this mean Lefty's style will change?????
peace and love--scotty
Libby, why I didn't know Hiatt was a Hoosier is beyond me. We're homeboys!!
Hayseeds in Macon to honor Bill? I'm in.
love to you too Lizzie, i miss you dearly......
Welcome home, Lefty!
Sounds like your having a blast woody. Why bother working any longer sounds like the corporate world was good to you.
Here is some trivia for 30 June.
1974 - GREGG ALLMAN married CHER four days after her divorce from SONNY BONO. Nine days later Cher announced she wanted another divorce. She and Allman divorced 3-and-a-half years later.
Lefty - Congrats on the move. any move that increases the mean annual temperature is a good one. NJ to CA 35 years ago for me. I've been trying for years to convince my dear wife that the southeast is the affordable alternative to CA but she is a borne and bred Valley girl and pulls out the "it's too humid and thre are huricanes every year" BS. So Cal ain't that bad of an alternative and the house is almost paid for so I'm not that disgruntled EXCEPT we can't seem to get my favorite band west of Red Rocks anymore. THAT is a bummer! If I could pick an area it would be Hatteras or Savanah, beautiful, no smog calmer life style etc. I like Florida a lot, but Joyce HATES it so I don't bring it up anymore since my brother passed away.
Head for Vegas Sat. for 57th birthday, seeing Jersey Boys on Sunday (my B-day). I can't wait. the week after that it's a 4 day tuna fishing trip to Mexico and the last week is a 25th wedding anniversary trip to Jamaica. Who has time to look for a job?
