I gotta agree with BDOB . Old or new I love the Mule. They way they blow the roof off the beacon every year for the New Years run is testament to how good this band is........ However, Hemlock is correct about how much of a bad ass Woody was and the new Mule ain't the same. Great band but I've never seen anything quite like those shows from 95-2000. Completely blew my mind. I was fortunate enough to see them in places as small as a coffee shop in the middle of nowhere PA to the biggest venue, being Irving Plaza which is pretty small. Those shows are really special to me. Nothing like it since.
The Band was actually moving toward a more refined sound on Life Before Insanity. The sound of the later Mule albums is on there if you really listen. I love the new Mule and but since Life Before Insanity, there's always 1 or 2 tunes that I don't care for on the newer CD's. That's still head and shoulders above any other band out there's studio output. I'm just waiting for that Mule CD that's a masterpiece from start to finish like Dose or Life Before Insanity. I know they have it in them. I think Mighty High is going to be a lot of fun nothing great but a good time.
Can't wait to get my preorder in the mail next week and I'll see you all at the beacon on 12/28 and 12/29 if I can swing it.
