Hank...right on re Mitch Mitchell. Funny, I have this great picture of Jimi sitting at the drums with a joint in his mouth. And I have a great picture of Paul sitting with Ringo's kit. I wish someone would post here exactly why Duane made the decision to go with 2 drummers. What was he looking for exactly? And what factors influenced his decision....another band....wanted to get a certain sound...wanted to showboat 2 drummers...what was the reason? I dont know if I ever heard that mentioned. Brent and I dont agree on this one and I am cool with it because its his gig, BUT, I favor 2 drummers at the JFD, and always have been. Its the spirit of what Duane wanted so I am in favor of it. I have to poke fun at Brent here a little. My favorite JFD was the year we had 2 drummers at the Gadsden Auditorium...dont remember the year, but, I know there was nothing left on the table that night. I sat in at a GABBA fest one year that had 2 kits, and that was an awsome evening as well.
