Dan, whatever you think of Mr. Matthews himself, be prepared to be very impressed by his band. They are all great musicians--Warren thought enough of Stefan Lessard to include him in the Deep End project, Carter Beauford is widely considered one of the best drummers around, Boyd Tinsley is a classically trained violinist and a great performer, and Leroi Jones is a solid, jazzy sax player.
All I am saying is give Dave a chance! 😉
