I just ordered the Amy Winehouse CD after watching some of her live TV appearances on youtube. Great "retro" R&B singer.
There are some amazing R&B singers, particularly female today, but they rarely play in front of real music....you know....the kind Stevie Wonder would take on the road in the early 70s or something like James Brown's Apollo Theatre lineups. Soooo, when I find someone with this kind of voice being backed by drummers, guitarists, real keyboards etc, my ears perk up.
Unfortunately, from what I've read about Amy recently, that song could be autobiographical. Hope she can keep her head on straight because she is a talent.
