Not everyone here on the GB makes their way over to the Forum so I wanted to copy what Bill E posted tonight....please include him on your prayer lists as well as his children, Ben and Hannah.
"Well, this has been a tough week for me and my family and friends, but we will get through this and past this and move ahead. When I went to see the doctor on Monday morning, she sent me to see my other doctor to look at the MRI that was done on June 1 because she saw something she obviously didn't like. Turned out there is a thickening around the surgery area from last December, which in essence means that whatever they took out then is coming back again.
SO, with that in mind, we are going to start on a combination of radiation and chemo that will begin probably this week and last for 6-7 weeks. It will be a M-F thing for about 15 minutes a day, with not too many potential side effects, so that is good news for sure! Fatigue, possible nausea, and those are the main ones, but I should be able to work most of the day each day, although I have a feeling that mid-day naps are in my immediate future according to my doctor!
All of you on here have been very loving, kind and gracious to me and to my family with your love and prayers, and I ask you again for those things to help us make it through this next couple of months. I am up, I feel very confident with the care I am receiving and with the caregivers and doctors I have. I cannot ever express how much my friends have meant to me, particularly in the past 6 months. As someone says from time to time, "Y'all are a great bunch!" That is the truth - y'all are the best bunch of people I know of, and I am thankful every day for all of you.
Keep my son Ben and my daughter Hannah in your prayers, too, as they are a little nervous about all this stuff. It will be all right, I do know that much in my heart, but it is a bit scary to young people (21 and 18) like they are. Love will make us all stronger and better, and for all the love you guys give to me and to them, I say "Thank you, and I love you!"
Peace always, and may God bless you always and in all ways.
