Leah, Unfortunately it was pretty sloppy, and trust me I really wanted it to be good. The Les Bres opener sounded like they decide to add it to the set list by rehearsing it on stage. Dickey was pretty drunk during the first set and was too busy directing traffic on stage and at the sound board to get any kind of flow going. If it wasn't missed notes it was botched lyrics. I thought Pedro and the new drummer were excellent and I also enjoyed Andy's playing as well, first time seeing those guys. Also my first time seeing Duane w/ Dickey, wish his Dad would have given him some room to play even if it means less solos for Dickey (mostly when he is not up to the task like last night). I think Duane might have played two or maybe three solos all evening, don't know what the point of having him in the band is if you don't let him display his talents. The second set was alot better, alot tighter (or maybe it seemed that way because I was drunker and Dickey was sobering up 😉 ). Seriously though it was better and Dickey, and the whole band, had some good but still not great moments. Back Where it All Begins was a highlight, one of my favorite songs and it was great to hear it live again. I went in w/ low expectations and was unfortunately disappointed. I didn't intend to review the show because of this but what the heck, I care enough to want to discuss it and I am entitled to my thoughts. All that said I still did have a good time and it still was good to see Dickey one way or another as he is one of my favorite musicians of all time. Hopefully next time he will be on his game. As stated early I had a great time talking w/ Goliath, and I also got to talk w/ Kirk West for a bit and I really enjoyed visiting w/ him. Ryan
