2 old 2 boogie, I can see why you got thrown out. Hell man you were trying to get somewhere where you not should have been. Some of the times you managed to do it the right way. Still I am glad you got where you wanted to get. Nice to make it. That wasn't you was it that chopped a hole in the roof to get inside the gig. I forget the venue but it was in your neighborhood? Ha. I am wondering about the gig you mentioned where there was a jam with Fleetwood Mac. I cannot recall the Mac being there. It could have been Peter Green the great guitar player. The bomb scare night you mentioned was Johnny Winter, Elvin Bishop, and the Brothers. If I got that right. I do recall Johnny not wanting to go on late. The bomb scare put the shows running real late and Winter was bitching to Brother Duane, while Elvin was finishing his set. We had already played. Now big D being nobodies fool, seised the opportunity and said, man we will go last if you want. Hell we don't care about the time. Now my man Johnny was really wanting to get back to the hotel so he could go on and get down. Of course not wanting to paint the Winter man in a bad light, we were all on the down. He just wanted to go get way down and call it a night. Now I do remember this night, as I have posted about it before and I think I put it in the book. I thought I put some other stuff in the book, but as it turned out, I did not. I have not read the book sense I wrote it. Done that, time to move on. The bomb gig was near the beginning of the Fillmore run by the Brothers, yes one of many. The band after Bill had booked the band the first time and had put the band with the wrong headliner, which was, Blood sweat and Tears. Good band wrong crowd for the Brothers. Turned out, that night the band blew Bill off the planet and he was in the pocket of the Brothers for life. God rest his soul, loved that man. Always treated me like I was important. Good man. Dreams was also on the bill with the blood gang. As it turned out the brothers not only blew the wild man away but the crowd to. The Brothers had took New York even being on the wrong bill. So on the bomb night Winter went on right after Elvin, Damn, Elvin was hot that night. This was a great show from start to finish, which is what the Brother did. The crowd went silent after Winter played and you could tell what they were thinking. What happened to the brothers? I remember the chill bumps going all over my body as we pushed the drum risers to the center of stage. The crowd went plum insane that night. They were going to get the treat of there life and did not know it. Brothers kicked off their set and things just got better and better. When they open the doors to let the crowd out the sun was high up in the sky and we had played all night. That is one of the big reasons the brother are still having success in New York. Now that was the night the big apple really fell in the Brothers world. This is the last night at the Beacon. Rock on my brothers rock on.
