I met John Howard, aka Bluedad, through this website maybe two or two and a half years ago, and we ended up playing some music together at a jam, as we lived only 20-30 minutes apart. Then I met Brent Sibey, aka SkyPonyDogBoy, in October 2005 at my first JFD. I met Jon May, aka Haisija, exactly a year ago when he came all the way from TX for a dTb show in Athens, GA (which, by the way, we are still looking for a copy of. Tapers, PM us if you have it - PLEASE!!) And most recently, I met Barry Zion, aka SkyDogSys, in October 2006 at JFD. Because of our mutual love and devotion to the music Duane created, we are bound as brothers. It's not just a meeting of the minds, but a joining of our musical souls. I'm amazed at how quickly our friendships have been formed and forged. But this weekend, we witnessed the birth of the Hayseed Mafia. It would not have happened had it not been for Barry Zion. If me, Bluedad, Haisija and SkyPonyDogBoy are the Hayseed Mafia, then Barry Zion is the Godfather. I am truly blessed to have these guys as friends.
