I'll post formal reviews for FRI and SAT shortly, but last night was the mojo from first note to last. I didn't find the first set tod rag at all; I thought it was all spot on... everything the band tried, every jam, every sone, just totally worked. the Liz > Oteil > JaBuma > Kofi > Jabuma > Mountain Jam > azed > Mountain Jam run was an orgy of decedent joy for my ears and bones... Liz had been anti-climactic with drums because there wasn't enough song left on the back end... but just totally blowing out Lizzy, then going elsewhere out of the solos... awesome! And believe me, even without D&C, that run was manna from heaven. D&C was like a big fat perfect-for-the-band cherry on top, all bluesly and wobbly.
