EZM is right on about Oteil - he was a drummer before he picked up a bass. I once read an interview with Colonel Bruce saying that Oteil would have been a world class drummer if he stuck with it as his main instrument. Of course if he was a drummer he never could of turned into the Michael Jordan of Bass players...which means he wouldn't be in The ABB either. BY the way, 2007 will mark 10 years of Oteil playing with The Brothers - pretty amazing it has been a whole decade already. THere is nobody I"d rather see out there than Oteil, nobody.
