I spoke to Jody late this afternoon, she was waiting to be released. She sounded great and looks forward to the beacon next week.
I met Jody last summer. We met under sad circumstances. A lifelong close friend of mine, who was the best man at my wedding, lost his father. My friend asked if I would be a pallbearer at his father's funeral, I was honored by the request. After the service my friends family invited all who attended to gathering at a restaurant. Most of us who attended the service went to the restaurant. At the restaurant I noticed a lady who looked very familiar but could not figure out where I knew her from. I approached her and asked where she was from, well she was from my home town, next question, what years did you graduate High school? Well it was too many years after I graduated for us to have gone to school together. Well, I was at a loss, maybe, I thought, I have this lady confused with someone else.....last question. Do you by any chance go to shows, concerts and the like? Her eyes lit up, she then asked her husband rhetorically "Frank, do I go to concerts?" Frank, who is my lifelong close friends brothers laughs.....She asked me if I was a Peachhead, when she got my obvious reply she hugged and kissed me and said we were "Family". It truely is a small world, I knew I had seen Jody at shows, but it took me a while to figure it out.
Since we have met, Jody always makes sure I am informed of area shows involving ABB family bands. Jody is truely a sweet lady and a pleasure to know. Get well soon kid, see ya next weekend!
