Enjoy your day, Bro. Pop in some tuneage and play it loud.
What a great day of posts. See what the possibility of a little Duane and Berry will do to folks? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the release will be a show that few if any of us have heard, some sort of super-clean copy of an obscure performance that has been sitting on a closet shelf for 30 years collecting dust. Neat to hear Skip's rundown on where the band was giggin' during that time frame. Was that when they were still doing 250 or 300 shows a year?
Speaking of a little long-overdue recognition, how 'bout a little Jack Pearson archival action down the road a ways? Just got another fine show from that era (8/13/97, Riverbend, Cincinnati), and I swear, the guy just never hits a bad note. I find the freshness and variety of ideas in his playing to be simply breathtaking. Each solo is a little masterpiece, and no two are even remotely alike.
And talk about a guy that practically NOBODY knows about! The world needs more Jack, I say.
