:birthday: Bad Little Doggie Leah Marie! btw, congrats to your nephew on all of his achievements! Much love, Kevin and Ca
Very sad indeed about the deplorable conditions at Walter Reed..Newsflash... dispicable conditions at hospitals are not limited to Veterans Hospitals...
In defense of the Veterans Administration, I can vouch for the outstanding facilites at the Bay Pine Hospital in St Pete FLA..
My sweet Kevin has something like 11 or 12 years service under his belt....He is a Viet Nam era Vet..Signed up to serve the day he turned 17 ( by then the draft was defunct) and served 2 years (thankfully stateside) in the Army. It seemed one of the big shots took a liking to him and made him his personal chaffeur, I believe he remained stationed in Georgia his entire 2 years.
He spent another 9 or 10 as a Reservist in both Michigan and Connecticut, while our children were young.
As we were so strapped with Heather's medical bills, Kevin decided to take advantage of his status, goes to Bay Pines simply for his annual physical.
That being said, they treat him like King and pamper him like I do for the few hours he does spend there.
I posted this before, there are a lot of lonely, broken men and women at our Veterans Hospitals...Please do not wait for the Govt to care for OUR Veterans...The brave men and women who risked it all...
Something as simple as a batch of home-baked cookies or just stopping by to visit / volunteer a few hours is always appreciated .
Freedom belongs to those who serve....Ca
