I don't know about any of this stuff I just read in the past few pages...and I don't care about any of that kind of negativity from a couple of the recent posts I read. There are a few people that always seem to be under a gray cloud for whatever reason and try to spread that negativity to rest of us. All I know is when Beacon time comes around see plenty of smiling faces in the crowd and on the stage...and when I see lots of hugs being exchanged at the pre-show jams and parties I know The Brotherhood is alive and well. This isn't 1971 anymore guys, we ALL know that and don't need to be reminded constantly by a couple of you. The fact that we still have this music and this community to embrace, to love and to call our own, means a lot to many of us including myself. The band is playing great and having fun and we are still along for the ride and it still feels damn good. When I am at a show and I hear the first notes of "Dreams", "Whipping Post", "Desdemona" or countless other brilliant songs, I know I am right where I want to be ...and I don't care about any other time or any other place and I certainly don't care about how much money the band makes or anyone else for that matter. IT goes much deeper than that. It is about right here and right now, not 35 years ago. It doesn't mean we have forgotten the past or don't acknowledge it - of course we do. Why must a few of you always try to rain on our parade? Regardless of the naysayers, Thousands of us will all be at The Beacon Theatre as usual having a blast...and and we will have formed new friendships and cemented old friendships because of it. The Allman Brothers Band remains a BIG part of our lives and we are going to savor the moments as long as we can because it means that much to many of us. Keep on spewing negativity if thats all you know, but we will continue on our merry way, loving and embracing and enjoying the best music being played anywhere, anytime. If you don't want to support these guys, fine but don't expect the majority of us to follow in your negative little footsteps...we will keep on supporting and doing whatever is necessary to keep the spirit alive as long as possible. The band is certainly holding up their end of the deal by delivering the goods night after night. Peace always ...see you on 74th and Broadway real soon!
