Tim recently lamented the lack of a new studio album from the boys, something we’d all love to see even though it doesn’t seem like anything is imminent. But I have an alternative idea for a new ABB album -- put one together yourself from the Instant Live CDs. I did it the old-fashioned way, with a cassette tape. Granted, they’re all covers and some of mine are from concerts from a few years ago. But it’s still fun to pop the cassette in as I’m driving down the road and listen to what is essentially a new ABB album -- and a pretty darn good one, too. Here’s my setlist: Side 1 Who’s Been Talking (from Raleigh, 2003) Anyday (Red Rocks, 2006) Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad (Solomons, Md., 2006) Franklin’s Tower (Solomons, Md., 2006) The Weight (Red Rocks 2006) Highway 61 Revisited (Camden, N.J., 2006), with Tom Petty Side 2 Walk on Gilded Splinters (Red Rocks, 2006) Smokestack Lightning (Atlantic City, 2006) Feel So Bad (Raleigh, 2003), with Susan Tedeschi Into the Mystic (Raleigh, 2003) Layla (Charlotte, 2003)
