Well, there are quite a few Marshall Tucker fans out here plus, a lot of folks who love Western Swing style music as well. We all know of course that Dickey is a big Western Swing fan and has done a fair amount of songs in that style, such as "Hand Picked" and "The Preacher" come to mind at the moment. Plus, many consider "Blue Sky" to be Western Swing as well. Marshal Tucker likewise did some songs in that vane such as "This ol' Cowboy" and "Desert Skies", plus a few more. 😉
I'm also a big fan of the band "Asleep at the Wheel" which is without question THE Western Swing band of the last 35 years (Someplace I have a picture of the ABB and Dickey is wearing an Asleep at the Wheel t-shirt 😉 ). Asleep at the Wheel is truly an incredible band which falls short of being a "jam band", however, they are very much an inprovisational band in their solos.
Well, Asleep at the Wheel have a new album out entitled "re-inventing the Wheel" and on this album they cover Marshal Tucker's "This Ol' Cowboy" and they do tear it up!!!! :guitar: :guitarist: :yep:
I went to purchase it yesterday, but the local Best Buy didn't even have a bin for Asleep at the Wheel under County or Rock!! :bawl: :bawl: :bawl: I think it's kinda stupid to go out and buy a cd on line for $15.00, then pay shipping & handeling, wait a week... all for just one CD...... Gotta start pushing the buttons on the 'phone to find it locally....
Anyone interested can check it out on their web site www.asleepatthewheel.com. there's a service you can sign up for there that will give you 3 free listens to the entire song(s).
Have a great Sunday!!!

(hemlock, if you want to threaten me, well that's your problem and true colors. Especially as you put it on a public web site for the world to see. I thought you were smarter than that? P.M. it next time and keep it off the GB. Don't worry, I'm keeping records of both.)
