Good reading on here the last day or two... Since we are on the topic of new cds from old friends ;-), my old friend Barry Richman has just released an incredible cd, Blues From Mars Vol 1. The web site is a Hitting The Web family member, too, Paul Kelly (or HoraceGammet as he is known here) and his INIO Music web site (formerly Aquarium Rescue Unit, both links are at the top of this page under "Other HTW Sites" ) has delivered some extremely fine music to the world and deserves the support of this great family. We were fortunate enough to surround Barry (one of the world's finest musicians) with some of the world's finest musicians such as Jimmy Herring, Jeff Sipe, Tomas Ramirez (sax!!!!), Kyle Brock, Tommy Taylor, Count M'Butu, Neil Fountain, etc, etc....talk about some soulful playing, the musicians performed with extreme sensitivity, as Ahmet Ertegun would say...Pure Barry Richman music, fusion of jazz/blues/funk/rock, lots of originals and covers such as Blue and Green (Jimmy and Barry and Sipe!!), The Creator Has A Master Plan, an outish version of Whipping Post, Planet Z like snippets of Martian Blues, etc...There is some serious playing on this baby...alot of it was recorded at Studio 1, and Mark Richardson was our engineer...mastered by Rodney Mills, a sonic and musical treat. Check it out. EAPFP
