Yeah, Bro. Lamdog....thought about it several days before I made the post--wanted it to be shocking, controversial. Got the expected fair share of abuse, nothing mean. Two main points: 1) This guy is the vanguard of the third generation in the legacy of Duane and Dickey. The players out there now developed listening to them and a few others, added their own ideas, bring us to what we've seen this summer. This guy, and those surely to follow, came of age listening to what we've been hearing the last few years, and are now ready to add their contributions. It's coming into full fruition now. I just hope these guys can find a forum to be heard in today's world. Point 2) A totally tight, precise rhythm section is absolutely essential to move forward from here. If the lead guys have to be at all concerned with driving the bus, they can't let the creativity flow. I spoke to the bass player, Jeremy Wiles, Friday night during a break, asked him if he was having fun. His response was an emphatic "HELL no!" He explained that he was having to concentrate as hard as he could every second. I told him that was part of going to the next level. Thanks to everybody for the civilized discourse on this. It will be interesting to see how things play out as these fresh faces come on the scene over the next few years. EAPFP
