DREAMS: My thoughts... Well, first off it was never Dickey/Duane. Dickey didn't solo even on the live versions in the Duane years (at least not on any of the versions I own). In the Dickey/Warren years & the Dickey/Jack years, I always loved the solos, but I was usually partial to Warren or Jack's part. When Derek & Warren started doing splitting the solo and I was finally convinced that was "the right way". Then they split the song and put two TOTALLY different solo spots (which legnthened the song) and I REALLY loved it, but then they switched it to only one guy and switched nights. Every once in a while they will have 2 solos (one of them plays a straight lead and the other a slide). - All I can say is that I no longer care how they do anything... The fact that you just don't know what you're going to get is what makes this nearly 40-year old band separate from anything that comes near it. It's amazing that they can stay so unpredictable after all these years... Enjoy what you can while you can
