Good golly gosh darn! I just got in from Smith's Olde Bar and was once again blown away by Col. Bruce and friends. The Colonel is playing every Thursday night for the next couple of months and the cast rotates weekly. The no-smoking Atlanta Room is downstairs at Smith's and has couches and great sound. The vibe these Thursday nights is so cool it reminds me of the Stained Souls at the Point 20 years ago. Spotted in the audience tonight was Mike Mattison ... What I can't figure out is how come I haven't seen any other HTW Guest Bookers at any of these gigs. This kind of music is rare and precious -- c'mon out and have a ball. The show starts promptly at 8:00 PM and is over around 11:15. See you next week!
