Hey folks,
Sending our sincere condolences and much love and prayers to Pam, Nic, Scott, Jake and Sara. So sorry to hear of your loss Pam and I can only imagine the beautiful Mom you were blessed with as she sure did raise a wonderful daughter. Take care and you will find strength in others. Nic, we are sending healing vibes to your mom as well. God bless her and hope she is doing okay.
Also belated birthdays we missed and anniversaries too.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words and prayers sent to our Lynn. Never in my life have I ever been so extremely terrified. Most of you know that Lynn is an Ironworker and the potential of accident/injury is more than a daily thought in our minds. Getting the call that he had been hurt at work, one can only imagine what I thought. As I calmed down and settled into the conversation with his brother, who was at the same job site as Lynn, it was then it sank in that though serious, not near as serious as it could have been.
*Some injury detail here* Lynn was on the steel, prepping it for welding when the blade on the grinder he was holding in his right hand broke apart and slid across his left hand. His ring finger was cut pretty bad but it was the baby finger that took the brunt of the blade and injury. The operation to reattach the finger, repair the tendons and muscle and hopefully repair the nerve damage was just about 3 hours. It appears that Lynn will have full use of his hand but we won't know for sure until this coming Thursday morning. They will remove the prelim cast and determine if the surgery took and hopefully the nerve damage was limited. Lynn did move all his fingers Friday morning and that in itself was a miracle having seen what I did when I arrived at the hospital. Another pure miracle was that Lynn didn't fall after he cut himself...he's not sure how he did it, but he put the grinder down, walked down a ladder to the elevator and then walked to the site health care office and said he was cut, I think he was in shock.
Lynn's at home, recuperating and trying his best to relax. He loves his work almost as much as he loves his family, the pride and excitement he beams when they finish a building is such a joy to experience with him. You see, Lynn is an architect by college diploma, he tried the "office" gig and only lasted 2 months if that. It was not for him, he said he needed something different, doing something he could enjoy and like many others around here, he found his niche, an Ironworker. Many think he was crazy then, many still do but Lynn loves to be busy, he loves the fruits of his labour, he loves to build...he drew and built our house in less than 6 months, that's the kind of guy he is. And I pray that Lynn will be content and able to behave for the time off.
The quiet guy everyone knows and loves is our rock.....and we need him. He loves everyone and everything that's in his life. First thing after hugging the kids when he came home from the hospital Friday was making sure the feeders were full for his birds. Lynn has about 7 hummingbirds that come and visit him...I swear they sit and wait to see him every morning.
Thanks again everyone and sorry for the lengthy post, all of you are our family and we love you all. Not sure what the future holds, nobody can determine that...just a reminder to give those hugs, make those calls, tell someone you love them. I know I am a blessed person to have someone like Lynn in my life. I love him with all my heart and if I could trade places with him, I would.
Later w/many, many thanks....Karen, Lynn and the Bomberry family
