Man the GB has been active as of late. I agree with Horace Unknown Hinson is a trip. We've been hip to him for years. Maybe I'm mistaken, but ........ Wild, Wild South was produced in Charlotte. At least I remember watching it years ago back when I was drinking. Secondly everybody knows I love the Heart Of Dixie State and the Alabama Gang-Randy, Brent, etc.......... hell I really don't mind Slick Rick, but ......... I'll have no blaspheming here. Clapton is more than good. Clapton is great!!! Always has been. Always will. The fact that Derek Trucks (y'all do respect him don'tcha?) literally jumped at the chance to play "Wonderful Tonight" once a night regardless if it threw a wrench into the ABB's half a**ed summer tour plans. I can assure you that all four of the ABB principals and certainly our "top notch" bean counters would give their right ____ (Submit favorite body part.) to be able to play any venue and charge $100.00 a ticket instead of groveling to open a Tom Petty concert at the expense of a Charlotte date or at the last minute with little or no notice switch to a less than 3000 seater venue in Erie, Pa for Christ sakes! Clapton has been at the forefront of popular music (inventing various generas or popularizing others as probably its most famous proponent.) While I revere Duane Allman as much as most everybody here, Duane is merely a chapter in Clapton's book and not even a early one. Yet a chapter that occurs way before the midway point in Eric's ongoing saga. It will truely be interesting to read Eric's memoirs concerning Duane. It will also be interesting reading about Yardbirds, Cream, 461, Slowhand, Concert For Bangaladesh, Jimi, Muddy, Freddy. Some have said Eric's inclusion of Derek in this years tour allows him to go back a revisit some of the Derek and the Dominos chapter of his life-a treat for those fans who have never left. One more thing you can bet Uncle Butch has instructed his nephew to beg, plead, grovel, etc. whatever he can do to get any crumbs from Clapton for the Allman's sake to keep a few more turns in the road that supposedly "goes on forever."
