Good 'ol Sunday morning folks - what a mighty night with the Mule last night! Several reggae infused tunes, killer set list, great crowd! Heard some of the new High and Mighty - powerful stuff! Warren said they had 19 tunes from their sessions and whittled it down for the CD. Only one cover out of 19 - that's some mighty fine songwriting - of course we have come to have those high and mightly expectations from Brother Warren, Matt, Danny and Andy. The encore was "Can't You See" and it was very touching. We all miss him and thanks to the Mule for that rememberence. Matt, Andy and Danny were in fine form for their Kansas fans - they gave the crowd a full dose of the Mule BIG TIME last night.
After the show Warren described the new CD as more of a musical journey than any other of his recordings. He also said he has a whole CD of singer/songwriter material that may be the next thing he puts out. Like Gregg, he writes material for his main band but also knows when a song is better suited for solo treatment. He said this next collection would start out acoustic but would be more than just that. This man is one of the greatest songwriters of our generation - simply amazing!
We are supposed to get a little relief from the 100 degree heat we've had over the last several days - it will be in the 80s today thankfully!
The new guys on duty in the Mule Van are TJ and Warden - be sure to stop by and say hi!
