Greetings from Wakarusa!!! Hittin' the Note is here and having a GREAT time! This is a killer festival and it's only the first day! Lot's of our favorite bands are playing here. This is a well put together event - some of the bands play twice during the fesatival so if you miss them the first time you can catch 'em again. There are six different stages so you're never far from music. The camping is over hundred of acres and there are asphault roads that don't get muddy plus shuttle service all over the park. NICE! We are located under the Harrah's Voodoo Tent oppostie the main stage. The good folks at Honest Tune are nearby as well so come stop by and say hi to all of us. It's nice and shady under the tent - which works out real well given the temperature reached 99 degrees today. Thankfully the humidity is low and so tonight it feels good. They've got a huge lake in this park and I just might go swimming tomorrow. A couple of bands stood out for me today - i would recommend checking them out: Avett Bros. - an upright bass, banjo and guitar with shetkicker boots for the drums and two good vocalist; Jackie Green - a Dylan style player that smoked with impressive songwriting, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals rocked - very interesting to hear her play the hammond B3 and guitar and her singing turned lots of people on. Not a wide range but expressive. Chubby Carrier brought up some real Louisanna Zydeco for Lawrence KS to experience - everyone loved it! Great line up tomorrow - 6 or 7 of our favorites then the Mule on Sat - what a weekend! The first person to come say high to me from the guestbook wins a free subscription (or 1 year extension) to HTN! JNB
