....and while we're on the subject, a helpless-on-the-floor story: Told by an acquaintence from Mobile I met in college. He attended his high school Senior Banquet with 3 friends, a near tea-totaller, but clandestinly drank excessively with them at the event, becoming most inebriated. His friends got him home and to the door, told him he was on his own from there. He contemplated the situation, realized he would never make it to his room without causing a disturbance and waking his folks. So he devised a plan. He let himself in, took off his shoes, and crawled on hands and knees to his room, to safety, to bed. He was awakened at dawn, still clothed, suspended off the bed by the hand of an irate father clasping his shirt, yelling, "Son, I don't EVER want to see you in the condition you were in last night. YOU HEAR ME?" Stunned, he replied, "But Dad, how did you find out?" To which his Dad jerked him up another foot and yelled, "What do you mean, 'How did I find out?' There I sat with your Mother and our 2 best friends and you come crawling through on your hands and knees...." EAPFP
