I hope buka reads this little string in the guestbook, because he really thought I was yanking his chain when we had this exchange on friday...
Buka: Gary (that's what he calls me), do you know how to use that tuner?, I saw you just tune up, but maybe you need to get the guitar setup or something"
BZ: (thinking) this is coming from a bass player who duct tapes a battery to his bass before the gig....
"Everybody knows D chords don't sound good on a Les Paul, its the damn G string on the 2nd fret that sounds out right after you tune it, right Lammie?"
LamDog: "I never had any problems with my Les Paul"
BZ: (thinking to himself) Am I going mad, or did he just say that, and to top that off, he is now hauling around two strats and has his son playing a strat.
Glad to see the emperor has new clothes and EddieP, Lefty, et al corroborate my story.
Like cowboys want to be buried with their boots on, you can bury me with my Les Paul, but then again, why take a good instrument out of circulation. you can bury me with a strat and nobody would miss the guitar.
Oh yeah, if your Les Paul stays in tune, you ain't bending the strings the right way or at all 🙂
