Happy b-day to miss elf.... Could use some help for my wedding. we're naming tables according to abb songs and what they have covered. A lot to choose from and most have some pretty bad omens. (yeah we picked the brighter ones). Anyway, my 'soon to be' choose summertime. We are trying to figure out who wrote it and when Summertime was released for the version the ABB used. I posted in the forum and got 2 responses from some people who I respect. The responses were: "Summertime" is from the Broadway opera "Porgy and Bess" written by George Gershwin in 1934. AND There are probably 100 different arrangements and versions of "Summertime." It is a standard. I really respect the people who responded knowlege, but I got a "this band is so great and you can't name the frekin' writer or who they covered...." Anyway, some consensus or this is it I know becuase.... would be very VERY much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!! peace and love--scotty
