Horace, you are correct, sir. The '92 Lakewood show was originally scheduled for a Saturday night--I think they wound up playing on the following Monday or Tuesday.
Anyway, it rained like nobody's business all day Saturday, and I guess the decision to cancel the show came at the last minute. A bunch of us had met up at a friend's house for some pre-show enhancement, and we were already well on our way towards oblivion when the announcement came over the radio that the show had been postponed.
D'OH!! 😡
Well, the evening wasn't a total loss. We still had plenty of treats to enjoy, and as fate would have it, the Georgia-South Carolina football game was on the tube that night. The Dogs won, for those of you keeping score at home. And a short while after the cancellation was announced, one of the local rock stations threw us bummed out fans a bone by playing the 44-minute "Mountain Jam" from the Ludlow's Garage album in its entirety, still to this day the one and only time that I've ever heard that version on the radio.
Also, a friend of mine assisted me in my grief therapy in her own special way much later in the evening, but that is a story for another time... 😉
Now, tell me about this video, Billy.
