Wow. Now that was fun. Experiencing my first Beacon weekend was an adventure I’ll never forget. Thank you Gregg Allman and the The Allman Brothers Band. The road does truly go on forever. I’d also like to thank the Sweeties for their hard work and effort to bring so many of us under the same roof (ceiling). It gave me the wonderful opportunity to put faces, hand shakes and hugs to the words typed on this board. And it’s amazing to me how welcoming, friendly and just plain cool the people of this family are. I felt very fortunate over the weekend to experience that. It was also very cool of Butch to stop by the Sweeties bash Friday, and Oteil to stop by the Left Coast Jam Saturday just to say hi and hang with the peeps for a while. The 1st set Friday was fantastic with a smokin’ Les Brers right out of the gate. I liked the way they gave WDLGTBSS a life of it’s own instead of combining it with FT. I also enjoyed the Taj guest appearance. It seemed unique to me in that it instantly become, out of respect I assume, Taj Majal accompanied by the ABB. And the version of Statesboro. What a different tempo than what we’re used to. Very cool. It was great getting to see Lefty and Band at BB’s. I enjoyed seeing David Stoltz sit in on bass, as well as EasyMichael. And finally, my compliments to the people of New York City. I met many gracious and friendly folks willing to offer assistance, directions and the like. I hope I can get back one day soon. Happy Birthday Wharfy
