The following is from an interview Rowland gave:
Q. What is this great story about how your love for the Allman Brothers Band led to a direct involvement with the Internet?
A. They needed a website, and in the process of building one for them, I discovered how bad all the existing products were, for building websites, especially if you wanted them to be interactive. This was in 1995. We knew the web was an opportunity, and this was the project that crystallized it. I still work on that as my “midnight-oil-keep-sane-from-being-a-CEO” project.
