Tunes, thanks for watching my back, and I almost did the same thing when I first read one of their spats (in fun) right before the Jam for Duane. I'm hoping to meet both of these guys soon, and thought that I read that Bluedad was driving up for the left coast jam this weekend. Brent (SPDB) is known to be a very gifted guitarist, and hopefully I get down to Alabama to meet him and hear him play. If you fast forward 30 years, you can just see these two guys sitting on a porch of a log cabin in rocking chairs, one playing a banjo, the other a dobro, smoking corn cob pipes, bickering with each other (in fun) till the sun goes down. Thanks again for watching my back but BlueDad and SPDB are great friends and stand-up guys. That's why I keep my attention on the brown site. I know most of the inside jokers over there, and can only track so much in what's left of my brain 🙂 As long as I'm here just a reminder, 2 more sleeps until the High Falls Band invade NYC for the left coast jam. Make sure you come to the Beacon Hotel before Saturday's show starting at about 5:00 pm. Scotty tells me everybody is invited and High Falls band will be kicking things off with a set and then will host an open jam for all of the guitar hackers that want to jam. No need to bring your amps this year, as we will have it all covered, and if you feel more comfortable on your axe, feel free to bring it, but we have a fender, a gibson and an acoustic so should have the 'basses' covered. (yeah Buka has a nice Fender P-bass too) It's really a lot of fun, so don't be shy about playing no matter what your skill level. The jam is intended for hackers (and I'm one of them) to get a chance to play with a band, and High Falls will provide ice breaker entertainment for the first set for the dancing suitees out there to get everybody in the mood. HAVE FUN and RELAX! Another reminder, after you get the chance to let your hair down at the left coast jam hacker's convention, and take in the ultimate Jam band The ABB next door at the beacon: A fine group of professionals, Lefty Collins and the No Mercy Band will be at BB King's. Last year they did about a 6 hour show, so make sure you party hearty with these guys down at BB's. I have this vision of somebody cracking open the emergency exit door at BB's while LC&TNMB are in the middle of mountain jam, and seeing that the sun is already up. What a year it's been for Lefty as he and his band have been playing around the country and recording with the legendary Johnny Sandlin. Man this guy even has his own festival this year. Well, at least I knew him when.... I'll re-post these reminders tomorrow, and I have goosebumps already thinking about this weekend.
