My report from the Stones concert in Atlanta--I got on the floor before they started & had a big time for a while in the back of the orchestra--I got in the front section for a little while when Keith sang his two tunes and a lot of the crowd decided to take a break--I'm a big Keith fan, so that was fine with me, but the best part came right after that when the stones' stage rolls out to the middle of the orchestra, right where I just happened to be standing! So I was front row for the four tunes they did out there! Mick could have sweated on me! He didn't, but it was a good thing I had my Big House hat on just in case...tried to catch one of Keith's picks, but he wasn't throwing any of them. too bad...the sound was amazing when the speakers on the little stage started blasting away and it was just great to see so much energy so close up--I honestly don't know how they do it, particularly since Mick sings virtually every tune and he is running around the whole time. It was real tough to see the stage roll back to the front of the orchestra, even though I got up front again toward the end. Great show--pretty good for me having a $62 ticket in section 315! And as ragged as they were at the super bowl, they were real tight tonight, no doubt about that...oh, it was pretty hot down there with all those people packed in...good thing I wore shorts! here's the setlist: Jumping Jack flash Spend the night together Only R'n'R Oh no not you again Sway (that's a surprise) Worried about you (this one went on for a while, mick doing his high voice) Tumblin' dice Midnight Rambler Night time is the right time (r. charles) This place is empty without you--keith Happy--more keith miss you (stage rolled out) rough justice get off of my cloud honky tonk women (stage rolled back) sympathy for the devil start me up satisfaction can't always get what you want brown sugar while I am typing away, I might as well announce that two weeks from tonight I will be in new orleans for my ninth mardi gras! if anybody is interested, I will be at the corner of st. charles and napoleon (right down the street from tipitina's) for the next four or five days after that, with frequent trips to the howling wolf club. I should be pretty easy to recognize--big house hat, tabasco shirt and, uh shorts, probably....laissez le bon ton roulez!
