Lee, I caught Vida Blue in Atlanta and thought it was a great show. About half instrumentals and half vocal tunes (Oteil sings one of his, the rest are Page-sung), and probably half originals and half covers. Some of the originals are "organic" dance music, which provides great bathroom break and beer line time. The rest of the show was awesome. Being a trio, it REALLY gives Oteil some room to stretch out and fill up some space. The secret weapon was Russell....he's phenomonal. But keep in mind, it's really Page's band.
The only reason to stay away is if you REALLY REALLY can't stand the Phish crowd. I can't, but I went anyway and enjoyed myself enough that I'd go again in a heartbeat.
