Evenin' y'all. I'm sending out a big thanks to TanDan for being a great tour guide around Macon today. Quite a few graves at Rose Hill had some visitors today. And Kirk, if you're reading, I can't thank you enough for opening the doors to your home to let me in for a peak at an incredible legacy. Pat Crenshaw, you were great company. And it was great just to sit back & listen to you & Dan recount some great personal memories that happened in & around Atlanta & Macon. Also, Byrd at Bibb Music, thanks for the impromptu jam. Luckily I have our acoustic Liz Reed on video, now I just have to find some way to post it! Very nice of you to let me play all of your shiny new Martins! After today, I feel baptized into a thick tradition of Allman Brothers legacy. The sense of community that is shared here on the website amongst all of us is astounding. But to be as close as I will ever get to Duane & Barry, stand in the places where all of the well-known photographs of the band were taken, meet Kirk, pay homage to Little Martha Ellis & Elizabeth Reed- I had a few magical moments today that only could have been achieved by being there. Until my trips down here, & meeting all of the GABBA crew, it has only been about the music. But this experience has "mortalized" the band, helped me to put myself in their shoes & walk their walk. And I have a new found respect for them, & a new found respect for all of you who insist on helping others find their way to this family. I truly feel I have arrived. I can't thank TanDan enough. Give this man a compass and, well, ahem, he'll get you to Macon! (LOL) Seriously though Dan has a huge heart & a passion for the band's history. Dan is the man! And Dan I think I may have gotten to the bottom of the Bond's Tomb debate. Thanks for giving me the chance to get all of this out there by reading. Peace~!
