Thanks for the review and congratulations on the coming blessed event!
Derek is not having trouble breathing nor is he gasping for breath. What you noticed has been discussed around here before -- he breathes like a horn player, taking in a lungful of air just before a solo phrase. Like a horn player, his breaths are quick and full. I think he plays more like a horn player than a guitarist at times ...
