CHARLOTTE, NC - Panthers fans are getting ready for their team’s upcoming Divisional Round playoff matchup in Chicago. But don’t remind them of the two teams’ most recent meeting, a 13-3 Bears victory. "Man. I don’t talk about the past," said Charlotte resident Pat Hetic. "Steve Smith is going to run circles around whoever covers him this Sunday" Hetic was reminded that, although Smith had 169 receiving yards in November against the Bears, he failed to score. "Man. I don’t talk about the past," Hetic repeated. "Deshawn Foster is going to tear up the Bears defense this Sunday." Hetic was reminded that Foster was held to 41 yards rushing during the last meeting. "Man. I don’t talk about the past," Hetic once again said. "Jake Delhomme is going to shred the Bears secondary this Sunday." When Hetic was asked how Delhomme would do that after being sacked eight times during the previous meeting, he responded predictably. "Man. I don’t talk about the past." And why would Pat Hetic expect that his team would play better against the Bears this time? "Did you see how we shut out the Giants last weekend?" When told that the Giants game he had just mentioned happened in the past, Hetic froze, appearing stunned. So much for not talking about the past.
