Macon, Georgia. What can one say? I'm jaded of course, having stomped those grounds since 1975. It was long after the Brothers had departed this neck of the woods. My wife graduated Mercer University and was a family friend of Dr. Burton. I hope Kirk pointed out the church bell across from The Big House to Lefty Collins.... There has never been a time where I ventured to Macon and thought I was just in some 'city'. Macon is always special and is truely Mecca for us fans. Make the journey at least once and sit by the train tracks and look up the hill at Duane and Berry. I stopped going to the spot years ago. I sit from a distance and it is fine by me. Everytime I've gone to visit, a train manages to slowly roll by. It's weird; it's strange. It is where I choose to spend my spare time. Dr. Charles Burton is the one who sent Duane to emergency surgery the night of his accident.
