It was on the front page of the second (Arts) section of the New York Times today.
It was a decision that was prompted by-GASP-money...
To quote David Gans, host of The Grateful Dead Radio Hour:
"When they were making $50 million a year on the road, there wasn't a lot of pressure to monetize their archives."
What a shame they're all broke now.
