For Bird 72 & anyone else interested.
Bird, I pulled out my Live @ Leeds LP last evening and was checkin that stuff out for the first time in like 32 or 33 years. It was all still in there and in A-1 shape.
The contents:
A letter from Kings Agency Ltd advising Chris Lambert that the Who appearance was cancelled at the Locarno Ballroom because he felt the Who are not the type for his Ballroom.
2> A letter from EMI Records to Lambert stating they werent sure if the High Numbers had anything to offer their record company after listening to demos.
3>An agreement with Premier Talent Agency & Woodstock Ventures Inc. to play Aquarian Festival Grounds, Wallkill NY for $12,500 on Aug 17, 1969. This of course ended up moving from what was an industrial park to Yasgurs Farm in Bethel NY and the name changing from the Aquarrian theme to 3 Days Of Peace & Love.
4.>A hand written schedule of shows for April May and June of 69
5> A Brocks Crystal Palace Fireworks Ltd invoice dated May 25th 67, 1 gross of Y.2. Smoke Generators
6>Tally sheet for The High Numbers for a certain time frame. I suspect the Who were the High Numbers early on but I dont know that as a fact
7>A paysheet for the musicians from show at Marquee Club
8>lyric sheet for My Generation. Even has written "Why dont you all f-f-f-f-ade away"
9>A notice from proceedings in county court to return goods unless arrangements be made by 10 March 65. The goods being a Vox Phantom gtr case & a Vox Piano Bass . Then notes that the cheque bounced,
10>A 5 x10 (?) Who promo glossy
11> A promo poster for the Who @ the Marquee, 90 Wardour St. in London
