Good show in Minneapolis last night. Here's what I can remember of the setlist in semi-accurate order:
AWTNM,
Statesburo Blues,
Stand Back,
Woman across the river,
Come and go blues,
Desdemona,
Rockin Horse,
Old before my time,
Dreams,
Midnight rider,
New Instumental (no drum or bass solo),
Whipping Post,
(encore)
Revival
Here are some notes on the show.
- Warren played slide on Statesburo. First time I ever saw Derek play rhythm on it. Highlight was seeing Oteil singing along to himself "Well my momma died and left me, My poppa died and left me, I ain't good looking baby, Want someone sweet and kind." LMAO. I guess he's a fan too.
- The new songs where all good. I'm really liking the dual slide on Old before my time. Almost sounds lap steelish.
- Dreams was sick. Undescribible. Lee you would have been in heaven.
- New instrumental is my favorite new song. No drums or bass solo.
- Whipping post. It's been a while since I heard this live. Oteil's new bass has the most amazing tone on this one. When he kicked it off with that 11/4 beat it was awesome.
Like I said it was a good show, but it will take a while for a show to live up to the 6/20/02 Chicago show.
Look for some awesome photos from Mr. Lehnherr to show up soon.
