Hello... I just wanted to ask for prayers and good vibes to be sent to Sean, my Brother in Mule and in Peach; the best Road Trip Buddy; an adherent of the Peach Patrol and a charter member of the Andy Hess Appreciation Society. (Benjamin,Lana, JNB,and Easy Michael -- he was the guy in the black Hawaiian shirt in Raleigh.) (To the Mule among us, he has an AHAS t shirt. 🙂 ) After the Fort Collins Mule show last Friday, he became ill and is in the hospital at the moment while his docs figure out a way to mend his heart; they are doing tests right now to determine if he is a candidate for bypass surgery (it sounds as though there has to be a certain amount of healthy heart tissue available for this procedure). His condition is serious. And it is genetic; he has a family history of cardiovascular disease. The scary thing is that he did not have the symptoms many of us associate with a heart attack, such as left arm pain, chest pain, or jaw pain. His main symptom was an upset stomach and fatigue. And it's hard to fathom someone 43 with this type of severe heart damage. I keep using the word "surreal" to describe this turn of events,particularly when I reflect back to Charlotte ABB barely two weeks ago, when we were tromping all over the lawn during moe and returning to our seats during ABB to dance. So if you have any extra prayers or positive thoughts, send 'em Sean's way, right here in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
