Was just thinking about that Viking girl at the Penguin (great burgers at the Penguin...) and I woke up some and wanted to post about the Charlotte experience...Banesh, MissElf, and I left from the Potter Ranch and had a very pleasant ride to Carolina and we stopped by Chez Everhart for festivities and damned if Bird wasn't there...very cool, and lots of other pals, old and new. Many thanks to the Everharts for putting up with all of us! Got us some burgers from the Penguin and headed to the show. Running late, fashionably, of course, and get inside after hearing Les Brers from the parking lot, and settled in to a marvelous set of tunes. Loved the Spoonful morph, very creative...Joe Bell had been begging/bugging Warren for that, I understand. Heh heh...Good work, Joe! The Mountain Jam was the only way to end the tour, and we got one hell of a closer too...Lana, Rowland and Shey, so glad to see y'all again!! Great to see everyone again, Karen and Lynn may get nosed out for concert goer of the year this time by origipch...talked to Old Coot, too, on the way to the Waffle House....It was great hanging with Bird, Brofan, and Rob Johnson at the Waffle House....lots of ABB fans there with us at the Waffle House that we didn't know, and Helen knew one of the young kids there from some other show or festival...cool. Was sorry I did not get to see some of my pals, but it just wasn't in the stars, I guess....Breakfast with Matt, Karen and Lynn, MissElf and Banesh and it was time to go back to real life. Thanks to Helen for being such a great traveling partner and to Matt for driving us around Charlotte (no, we didn't end up in West Virginia this time...) and as always much thanks and love to Jai and Kirk!! Another year, another tour...Lots of fun times for me personally, and I know these guys gave so many of us unforgettable moments from the Beacon, to Wanee and throughout the summer. We are fortunate to be witness to this.... What a weekend! EAPFP
