After two days of driving Greg Potter and I had a fun time tonight hooking back up with the band and crew. Nice 20,000 seat venue by the river. Devon Allman played a set at the side stage to kick things off and joined the band for Midnight Rider later in the evening. Ludinda Williams just kicked ass - I love her slow ballads, that accent, she just kills me! We had fun giving away the front row seats in the HTN subscriber raffle - one of the winners had on a Skydog T-shirt - loved it! Gregg had a hilarious interview on the radio today. Lot's of fund raising for Katrina victims going on at the venue. The St. Louis crowd was very appreciate of the Brothers - very strong responses at all the right moments. We had a Dreams with Warren taking the first part and Derek the second! Beautiful Desdemona, Gregg's voice was in fine form. Jessica! Engaging drum solo - kept my attention the whole time. Whipping post encore - both Derek and Warren with stinging leads. Still - the highlight of my night was when Jaimoe sang "April Moon" to Gary Giller and myself after the show! But that is a story for another time...it's 4:30 in the morning, time to go to bed a happy traveler. PS - Jaimoe's got a pretty good voice. I never knew that...but why am I not surprised?! JNB
