I don't feel Randy and Brent dismiss the credits and accomplishments of any of the original members of the Brothers. Having had many conversations with them both, I understand the context of their statements. Randy often speaks of Duane's vision. He gives Duane alot of credit because it's was Duane's vision and aspiration to have his own band and to be a band for the people. Duane handpicked each member of this band and we're all fortunate that he barred the door and told the boys they weren't leaving. Duane's vision still continues today. I can't think of one single person who reveres Dickey Betts more than Brent Sibley. If you've ever heard Brent play guitar, his art is a testament to his respect and adoration toward Dickey as an artist and a significant contributor to the Allman Brothers Band. In any given conversation these two Bama Boys will credit the entire band for persevering in a very volatile era and time for music. They all struggled and sacrificed alot to turn their dream into reality. They persevered and overcame many obstacles to get the music to the people. I will always give Dickey tremendous credit for keeping this band together after Duane's passing. They could have easily given up and moved on. They had something very special, they needed the music to work through the tragedy then and the tragedy that was to come a year later. Duane, Dickey, Berry, Butch, Jaimoe and Gregg are all vital...and were all part of Duane's dream, a dream that became reality and still exists today. Duane knew what he had, he knew it was special, he knew this group of musicians would stand by him and be part of his dream. We are so, so blessed! :guitar: Peace
